Ziff Davis' DigitalLife Event Declared a Major Hit with Consumers

Ziff Davis Media Inc. recently completed its popular DigitalLife consumer electronics and entertainment show in New York City and produced several new records in terms of number of
attendees, press, sponsoring and exhibiting companies, product launches and high-profile speakers. More than 44,700 consumers and 705 members of the media attended the three-day extravaganza, representing a 78% increase in attendees and a 24% rise in press, versus year ago.
From October 14-16, 2005, New York City's Jacob K. Javits Center was transformed into a digital playground for consumer technology buyer's at the most critical time of the year -- the pre-holiday shopping season. No other event of the size and scope of DigitalLife is designed to allow digital technology and videogame companies to speak directly to consumers. Over
174 of the consumer electronics and videogame industry's most prominent companies displayed their latest digital technology products, unreleased videogames and online services at this year's show.
"It's a whole new digital world out there," said Monica Vila, Vice President, Ziff Davis Media. "New technologies are emerging every day, transforming how consumers learn, communicate and play. DigitalLife has become a destination for tens of thousands of consumers to learn about the latest trends and products in this exciting marketplace. As a result, this year, more than ever, consumers sought-out and established strong brand
relationships with the digital technology companies at DigitalLife and our research indicates that many of their products are now at the top of their holiday shopping lists."
DigitalLife facilitates face-to-face meetings with key influencers and consumers allowing them to interact with products, ask questions and learn first-hand how their lives can be enriched by the convergence of technology, entertainment and communications. Below are some of the highlights of the 2005 show.

Product launches and exhibits: DigitalLife 2005 featured scores of new product launches, innovative product demonstrations and exhibits from over 174 leading and emerging technology companies. Companies showcased the latest in digital music, home entertainment equipment, videogames, HDTVs, mobile computing, personal computers, cellphones, digital photography and video, broadband Internet access and more. Among the leading companies participating in DigitalLife 2005 were 2K Games, 2K Sports, AMD, Belkin, Best Buy, Creative
Labs, eBay, GameTap, HP, Intel, Logitech, LucasArts, Microsoft Windows Media Center, MSN , Microsoft Xbox, Namco, NEC, Nokia, Palm, Sega, Sony Online, T-Mobile, TiVo, Toshiba, Verizon, Xavix, XM Satellite Radio and more.

Industry Day and Keynotes: Members of the media and 860 VIPs from the consumer technology, videogame and retail industries attended Industry Day on October 14 which included a special preview of the show floor, educational sessions on what consumers will be buying this year, issue-focused panels and keynote addresses. The show kicked off with a powerful triple-header from three industry leaders. Peter Moore, Microsoft's Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and Publishing, presented "Xbox 360: The Next Generation
Is Here;" Intel's Don McDonald, Vice President and General Manager for their Digital Home Group discussed "At Home With Intel" and LucasArts John Geogheghan, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing and Matt Shell, Associate Product Manager detailed "The Making of a Videogame."
The keynote presentations were followed by a special panel discussion led by PC Magazine's Editor-in-Chief Michael J. Miller on "What's Hot For The Holidays" featuring R.Todd Bradley, Executive Vice President, Personal Systems Group, HP; Greg Joswiak, Vice President, iPod Products, Worldwide Product Marketing, Apple; Jonathan Nattrass, Senior Director of Product Marketing for Mobile Devices in North America, Motorola; Bryan Lamkin, Senior Vice President, Digital Imaging and Digital Video Business Unit, Adobe; and
Patrick C.S. Lo, Chairman and CEO, Netgear.

Education Day: Continuing on its mission to educate and inspire students of all ages to get the most out of today's technology and create their own digital lifestyle, DigitalLife and the New York City Public Schools partnered once again in welcoming over 1,200 high school students to the show from the New York tri-state area. Sponsored by AMD and MSN, students from New York City's Academy of Information Technology Schools visited DigitalLife on Friday, October 14 and participated in a series of fun and educational programs, focused on the newest digital technology benefiting consumers at work, home and play.

Videogames: One of the hottest and most entertaining experiences at DigitalLife was the gaming area featuring unreleased and new videogames,tournaments, an Xbox arcade, product exhibits, celebrity tie-ins andworkshops. Attendees had the unique opportunity to view demonstrations of the Xbox 360, the next generation videogame platform from Microsoft set to be released in November 2005.
One of the most thrilling experiences for gamers was the ability to preview dozens of new and released videogames including LucasArts's Star Wars Battlefront II and Sega's Condemned: Criminal Origins and Chromehounds. Attendees also participated in a major new videogame tournament, produced in part by the Global Gaming League and sponsored by Xbox, Intel, LucasArts, Shure and GameTap as well as media partners The New York Post, 1UP.com and HOT 97. The tournament kicked-off nationwide with online and face-to-face qualifiers and culminated with the grand finals October 14-16 at DigitalLife. Thousands of gamers competed for over $100,000 in cash and top brand prizes. In addition to the Tournament Series, gamers were treated to a major Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) tournament, sponsored by Zipit Wireless and RedOctane.

Best of Show Awards: Editors from PC Magazine, Sync magazine and the Ziff Davis Game Group reviewed hundreds of products in the consumer electronics, online and videogame categories at the show. As a result, 10 products including best booth earned the Best of Show award at DigitalLife 2005:
