Winland Electronics Receives One-Year Supply Agreement for Innovative Security Product

Winland Electronics, Inc. (Amex: WEX) announced today that the Company has signed a one-year supply agreement to manufacture an innovative security product for law enforcement applications. Winland has shipped $140,000 in product to the customer during the fourth calendar quarter of 2006, and has an additional $350,000 scheduled to ship during the first calendar quarter of 2007. The agreement has potential over the first year in excess of $1 million dependant on the customer's sales to municipalities and law enforcement organizations.

The product is used by law enforcement officials to obtain real time information, in the field, allowing for rapid identification. The product is wireless, allowing for law enforcement to verify identity against various databases to identify threats.

Dale Nordquist, Winland's Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, stated, "Winland will be manufacturing the entire product, an opportunity we call a 'box build,' rather than just components, and further demonstrates Winland's emerging expertise in electro-optical mechanical assembly and alignment. Already, the initial shipment to this customer was extremely well received, with the customer commenting that Winland's efforts represented one of the 'easiest new product introductions by a supplier' for them. We believe there are additional opportunities for work with this customer, and we look forward to additional opportunities in the biometric and law enforcement market."
