Varian Semiconductor Wins Supplier Award From Samsung Electronics24 February 2005
Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSEA) announced today that it has received the Excellence of Technical Cooperation Award from Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world's largest memory chipmaker. Samsung Electronics recognized valued suppliers as it celebrated the thirtieth anniversary of its semiconductor business. Varian Semiconductor received the award for the outstanding technical support the Company provided in support of the quick start-up of Samsung Electronics' production facility in Hwaseong, Korea.
Dr. Chang-Gyu Hwang, president and chief executive officer of Samsung's semiconductor business, presented the award to Dr. Yong-Kil Kim, executive vice president and general manager of Asian operations, who accepted the award on behalf of the Company. "Varian Semiconductor is honored to receive this award," said Yong-Kil Kim. "For over 20 years, we have worked closely with Samsung Electronics to supply them with superior customer satisfaction and ion implanters that deliver high productivity and advanced process capabilities.
