Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. Launches e-STUDIO2100c/3100c Color MFP Series for Mixed Workflow Environments

20 September 2005

Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS)
today launched the award-winning e-STUDIO™2100c and e-STUDIO3100c,
full-color copiers, printers and scanners that boast high-volume,
high-speed color and exceptional image quality in one multifunctional
network system. Winner of a 2005 BERTL®'s Best Award in the
Best Low-Volume CRD/Commercial Color Range category, the series carries an
affordable price tag that makes it ideal for a wide variety of mixed
workflow environments, including mid to high-volume business users,
print-for-pay facilities and graphics professionals.

"Toshiba's e-STUDIO2100c/3100c series can be used both as a fully
functional color copier and as a shared network resource for printing and
scanning," said Steve Rhorer, director, Product Marketing, TABS. "With
advancements in speed, productivity, output quality and reliability, this
series is the perfect fit for any user market that requires high-quality
images and superior system performance."

Superior Color and Image Quality

Using Toshiba's revolutionary color imaging technology and the latest
Fiery® technology, the e-STUDIO2100c/3100c series offers vibrant 21 and
31 full-color copies and prints per minute, respectively. Both models
feature monochrome print and copy speeds of 31 pages per minute. When
copying, graphics level image quality is achieved with superior 9,600 x 600
dpi resolution.

Toshiba also has included several proprietary technologies to enhance color
and image quality, including:
-- Toshiba Color Inline Printing System - Achieves high-speed color
copying with efficiency, image stability and superb reliability using an
innovative four-drum tandem engine.
-- Toshiba's Dual Compression Imaging Technology (DCIT) - Compresses
scanned color images in two stages and significantly increases color data
processing speed.
-- Scalable Smoothing Technology - Ensures superb image quality and razor
sharp text.

Ease of Use

The network-ready e-STUDIO2100c/3100c series was designed with a full range
of features that can streamline the printing process, reduce costs and
increase administrative efficiency. The e-STUDIO2100c/3100c series
utilizes a unique belt fusing method for an impressive warm-up time of
approximately four minutes and an accelerated first copy delivery time of
just 9.5 seconds, the fastest in the industry. In order to efficiently
produce high-volume printing and copying, the e-STUDIO2100c/3100c makes
available 4,030 sheets from up to six sources. The straight paper path
design results in less paper jams and increased image stability.

For easy manageability, the e-STUDIO2100c/3100c includes Full-Color and
Print Volume output controls to allow administrators to control usage,
manage accounts and reduce total cost of ownership. The Toner Refill Alert
feature reduces downtime by alerting the user that toner is low, allowing
it to be refilled before it is empty. Toner cartridges that are designed
for simple replenishment and high productivity also reduce downtime and
maintenance.

Loaded with Features

The e-STUDIO2100c/3100c contains several features designed for maximum
versatility. These include the Magazine Sort Printing feature, which
allows users to alter the page sequence automatically, so documents can be
printed in book format, then compiled with ease later. An optional saddle
stitch finisher also allows the production of professional-caliber
booklets.
Another unique feature is a built-in Photo Zoom function, which
automatically enlarges or reduces photographs from a wide variety of
standard photo sizes to any pre-set size at the touch of a button.

Expanded Media Support

Further expanding its usability, Toshiba's e-STUDIO2100c and 3100c are
compatible with Toshiba's AquaAce™ weather, water and UV resistant
synthetic paper. Developed to meet the demands of fast turnaround and low
production cost environments, the highly durable AquaAce is a waterproof,
glossy, silky white paper that delivers photo image quality, allowing
graphic and promotional designers to produce signs and posters that have a
superior level of color saturation and clean, crisp illustration
reproduction without lamination.

An additional thick paper mode also is available on the
e-STUDIO2100c/3100c, supporting paper weights up to 12pt stock, 104 pound
cover and 158 pound index -- the thickest "officially" supported paper of
any color copier in its price range and target market.

The e-STUDIO2100c and 3100c are available through Toshiba's nationwide
network of dealers for the suggested list prices of $19,995 and $24,995
(USD), respectively.
