With more than 150,000 attendees from 110 countries, the 2006 International CES was a major global event at which thousands of new products and technologies were introduced into the world marketplace. Throughout the show, attendees voted at electronic polling stations in the Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase for their favorite innovation of 2006. The showcase featured more than 200 products selected as either «honoree» or «best in category» from more than 1,000 entries for the 2006 CES Innovations Awards. The PowerSquid received the most votes and the People's Choice Award was presented to Flexity, LLC by Scientific American publisher, Bruce Brandfon, at a Saturday evening awards ceremony held on January 7, 2006, at the CES.
