Teak Technologies to Lead Power.org Technical Subcommittee on High-Speed Packet Switching Interconnects

16 December 2005

Teak Technologies, a leading provider of
theoretically optimal interconnect systems solutions, has been selected to
lead the technical subcommittee on high-speed packet switching
interconnects within Power.org, an open standards community around chips
and systems which use Power Architecture technology.

The Technical Subcommittee on Packet Switching Interconnects (PSI-TSC) is
the first of its kind to be led by a startup. This subcommittee will
exploit key industry directions in defining chip- and subsystems-level
architectural reference design standards and specifications for a 10-GbE
packet switch module/switching appliance targeted at next generation blade
server platforms and to a lesser extent at mid- to low-tier High
Performance Computing (HPC) or clustering applications.

"We are very pleased to be leading this effort and will adopt a
collaborative approach that involves all interested stakeholders
industry-wide," said Sanjay Dua, Chief Marketing Officer at Teak
Technologies. "Four major networking systems, semiconductor, software, and
manufacturing OEMs have already begun participating in this effort. Our
goal is to develop reference design specifications that incorporate
best-of-breed solutions and allow for advanced implementations for the
purpose of vendor differentiation. Additionally, these specifications will
take an end-to-end solutions perspective and encompass all necessary
platform requirements including platform management, QoS, and resource
virtualization."
