Significant Battery Gauge Patent Granted To O2Micro

O2Micro(r) International Limited (Nasdaq:OIIM); (SEHK:0457), a leading supplier of innovative power management, and security components and systems, was issued 14 claims under United States patent number 7,081,737 for its Battery Cell Monitoring and Balancing circuit.

This patented IC architecture enables monitoring and balancing voltage levels of a LiIon or Li-Polymer battery pack, and its individual cells, through a highly accurate low power battery gauge function.

In addition, applications using this invention can be easily modified resulting in quicker design cycles and use in a wide variety of battery models. Product applications include notebook computers, UPS, electric bike, electric vehicle, etc.
