Samsung Names J.S. Shin President and GM of U.S. Consumer Electronics Division20 January 2005
Samsung has named Jung Soo Shin president and gm, digital consumer electronics division of Samsung Electronics America. Shin is a 21-year veteran of Samsung with extensive international and Samsung HQ experience.
As president and gm of Samsung's consumer electronics division (CED), Shin is responsible for overseeing all product sales, marketing, and operational activities for the U.S. marketplace in the visual display, home appliance, digital audio, digital video and set top box categories.

Oh, president and ceo of Samsung Electronics America. "We believe his bold leadership, global vision and commitment to the organization will enable the consumer electronics division to meet our aggressive goals for the coming years here in the U.S. market as he assumes the duties of his new position."
Previously, Shin held the position of svp and gm for CED. In his three years at Samsung Electronics America, Shin lead the consumer electronics division to a fourfold increase in revenue and record profitability.
Prior to Shin's tenure in the U.S., he served as the president and ceo of Samsung Electronics Australia where he restructured the organization and doubled revenue within three years. Previously, Shin was president and ceo of Samsung Electronics Benelux and Samsung Electronics Germany. While running the Benelux operation, Shin orchestrated a doubling in revenue in just three years.
