Moms Seeking 'Active' Christmas Gifts to Fight Childhood Obesity27 December 2006
This holiday season, kids are asking for electronics - but moms aren't pleased and some aren't buying them. Over 92% of adults believe obesity is a major concern for their families, and many are looking to give their kids gifts that encourage activity. Snippies interviewed mothers across the country (on video) and discovered that they are increasingly concerned with the fitness level of their children. This Christmas, they'd like to give less-passive gifts, but face the problem that most kids simply don't yearn for the kinds of presents that encourage old-fashioned outdoor play. The clips available for download, below, show Moms in the study speaking about their preference for more active gifts. The first link is an instant- play replica of the larger broadcast quality clip available in the second link. A full press release, with the study and results explained in more depth, is available below as well.
