Michael Santarini Joins EDN as Senior Editor25 January 2005
EDN today named Michael Santarini Senior Editor. Based in San Jose, CA, he will be responsible for reporting features and news stories on a variety of topics, including electronic design automation. He will also cover local press events, functions, and conferences in Silicon Valley. With more than nine year's experience covering the electronic-design- automation and silicon-intellectual-property industries, Santarini joins EDN from CMP Media's EE Times. During his seven and half years with EE Times, Santarini established a strong reputation as an investigative reporter, breaking several M&A and new-technology stories and providing comprehensive coverage of legal battles, such as Cadence versus Avanti and the IBM Toxics trial. In 2003, Santarini was awarded one of two Best Exclusive Feature awards from CMP Media for his coverage of a failed takeover attempt of MIPS Technologies by licensees. Before joining EE Times, Santarini served as the associate editor of Integrated System Design magazine. He holds a BA in English, graduating with honors from Santa Clara University in 1995. "Michael will leverage his background and experience to dig out hard- hitting features in print, and news stories for online. We're thrilled to have him onboard. He'll be a terrific complement to our staff of technical editors, all of whom are engineers," said Dodge.
