MailFrontier Gateway™ Appliance to prevent growing email threats, such
as spam, phishing and directory harvest attacks, from reaching its

With more than 10,000 active email users at corporate offices and the
company's retail stores across North America, OfficeMax's IT department was
spending up to 60 hours a week battling the unwanted email that accounted
for half of all inbound messages. Despite the huge administrative effort,
employees were still complaining about receiving spam and finding important
business emails were being blocked by the previous anti-spam solution.
After reviewing leading vendors, OfficeMax found MailFrontier was the most

four MailFrontier Gateway Appliance M500s at the network perimeter to
ensure dangerous and unwanted email doesn't reach corporate systems. The
retailer uses MailFrontier appliances physically located in several
geographies to process inbound email in a split configuration to block
unwanted email at all the email entry points. This configuration provides
OfficeMax's IT team with effortless control through a centralized
administrative console for email quarantine, system management and
reporting across their entire email network.
