LG Electronics Redefines Laundry Room Convenience With Introduction of World's First Steam Washer15 December 2005
LG Electronics, a leading global consumer products manufacturer, today featured the innovative LG SteamWasher(TM) with remote monitoring capabilities -- as part of the LG Tromm Front Control Laundry System -- at the company's 2006 preview event in New York City. LG's innovative laundry portfolio infuses the latest trends and technologies to enhance consumer convenience and redefine the category.

As the latest addition to LG's Tromm Laundry System product line, this ultra-large capacity unit incorporates a unique steam generator that enables superior performance, higher energy efficiency and water conservation when compared to traditional machines.
LG's proprietary steam washing technology introduces an entirely new concept of clothing care. The SteamFresh(TM) Cycle uses the power of steam to remove wrinkles and odors from clothing without the use of water or detergent. This innovative, new cycle will reduce trips to the dry cleaner and make the ironing board seem obsolete. It can even be used to refresh clothes in between washes.
The unit also features one of the largest capacity drums in the industry, at 4.0 cubic feet, and has one of the fastest spin speeds at 1320 RPMs. Sporting a menu-driven control panel with an attractive, blue LCD screen, the SteamWasher(TM) offers a multi-language option -- English, French and Spanish -- eliminating potential language barriers.
Additionally, the SteamWasher(TM) line is enabled to work with the award-winning LG Remote Monitoring Laundry System. The system allows consumers to monitor cycle progress while they focus on other activities around the home. With a quick glance at the remote monitor, users can see the progress and remaining time on the washing, refreshing and drying cycles. This system, which utilizes Power Line Communication (PLC) technology, is easy to use and works by simply plugging the monitor into any electrical outlet within the home.
The LG SteamWasher(TM) product will be available Q2 2006 at a manufacturer's suggested retail price ranging from $1,499 to $1,599; The LG Remote Monitoring Laundry accessory package is available now for $99.
