KUA Releases 2004 Annual Report14 February 2005
Kissimmee Utility Authority, Florida's sixth largest community-owned electric utility, today released its 2004 annual report. An electronic version of the report is available on the utility's Web site at http://www.kua.com/Corporate/Press/Reports.
The 48-page report, titled "Beyond Measure," features a financial summary of 2004 as well as a behind-the-scenes narrative on the 2004 hurricane season and how KUA and its employees survived and thrived during the most devastating seven weeks in the utility's 104-year history.
KUA was the hardest hit electric utility in Central Florida, having lost service to 100 percent of its customers during Hurricane Charley, 36 percent during Hurricane Frances and 59 percent during Hurricane Jeanne.
Audited financial statements in the report show increased residential customer growth in 2004 of 6.7 percent. Energy sales decreased by 3.3 percent.
