Interview opportunity - One-Tonne Challenge - Fall is Here...Interviews on Ways to Make Homes More Energy Efficient29 September 2005
The average Canadian produces five tonnes each year of the greenhouse gas emissions that lead to climate change. Half of these emissions result from home energy use for heating, cooling, water heating, appliances and lighting. If everyone reduced personal greenhouse gas emissions by just one tonne, it would make a huge difference. Fall is a busy time for home renovations and there are many things we can do in to save energy use, save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions - all at the same time. For instance, if every household in Canada changes just one traditional incandescent light bulb to an ENERGY STAR(R) compact fluorescent light, Canadians would save $73 million in energy costs every year and reduce greenhouse gas emissions equal to taking 66,000 cars off the road.
Interviews are available with experts on;
