Ground Geophysics Confirm Conductors at Strathmore's Patterson Lake Property: Drill Program Underway20 November 2006
STRATHMORE MINERALS CORP. ("the Company") (TSX VENTURE: STM) has completed its spring-summer exploration program at its wholly-owned Patterson Lake Project located within the southwest part of the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. The Patterson Lake property encompasses approximately 25,000 hectares and is located about 30 kilometers due south of UEX Corp. and Cogema Resources Inc.'s Anne and Colette uranium deposits near Shea Creek. The 2006 exploration included a MEGATEM airborne geophysical survey over the northern part of the property and ground geophysical surveys. The MEGATEM and prior airborne geophysical surveys identified several conductive trends at Patterson Lake. Two sub-parallel conductors trending to the northwest were identified along the west side of Harrison Lake. These conductors appear to represent a southerly, faulted extension of an approximately 10-km long conductive trend, located to the north of the Patterson Lake Property at Anne Lake. Approximately 50-km of grid lines were cut near Harrison Lake. In addition, Max-Min, Magnetics and Resistivity surveys were carried out. These ground geophysical surveys were designed to better define the location of the conductor and potential structures within the area (See Company news release dated May 15, 2006). The surveys confirmed the presence of two sub-parallel conductors, up to 5-km in length. The data obtained has been evaluated in conjunction with existing geological and geophysical data, and drill targets were identified. A drill rig is now on site and a drill program totaling approximately 2,500 meters is now underway. The Company plans to test several conductive targets at the Patterson Lake Property.
