GFX Dynamics(TM) and Sharp(R) Electronics Corporation Celebrate NASFM Retail Design Award Winners Like Never Before on the 'Big Screen'26 March 2006
GFX Dynamics, an innovative provider of dynamic digital signage and "first of breed" RFID-inspired Smart products, and Sharp, a worldwide leader in flat-panel Liquid Crystal Display technology, have collaborated to use dynamic content and LCD monitors in a digital signage application at a key GlobalShop awards ceremony. For the first time, digital signage will be used to show the award categories and winners of the National Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers (NASFM) 35th Annual Retail Design Awards during the GlobalShop 2006 show, March 26- 28th in Orlando. GFX Dynamics is providing the digital content for the award categories and winners, including Store of the Year and Fixture of the Year. Sharp is displaying the content on eight 45-inch commercial LCD monitors. "We are pleased to be a sponsor at this year's event and to use digital signage as the catalyst in taking the awards program to the next level," said Chuck Huttinger, CEO of GFX Dynamics. "Using digital signage for this venue enhances the viewers experience of the awards program at the show plus, it enables content to go live immediately, revealing the identity of the winners after they are announced without changing out signage," Huttinger added. "LCD's have become the choice for vibrant, dynamic content displays in commercial applications," said John Becconsall, director, Digital Signage, Sharp LCD Products Division. "Sharp continues to expand its LCD leadership with new and innovative display products that enable all types of HD content, thereby helping customers realize the potential of digital signage initiatives." GFX Dynamics created the content for the Annual Retail Design Awards using a mix of 2-D and 3-D design, plus full-motion video to bring to life the categories and their winners right on the Global Shop floor. At GlobalShop, Sharp is showing a full line of monitors designed for commercial use, including a preview of the world's largest professional LCD monitor, the crystal-clear, 65-inch model PN-655, which will begin shipping in June. Also on display are 45-inch monitors, model PN-455. All Sharp LCD monitors feature full 1920 x 1080 two-megapixel high-definition (HD) resolution for accurate and precise image reproduction. These commercial- grade monitors feature superior reliability for extended-use applications. Sharp professional LCD monitors are available through authorized dealers and value-added resellers.
