Future Shop Celebrates the Deerfoot Meadows Store Opening with a FREE Wide Mouth Mason Performance

Future Shop, Canada's largest national
retailer and e-tailer of consumer electronics, is opening a new store in
Calgary, in the Deerfoot Meadows Shopping Centre. There will be grand opening
celebrations all weekend long at the new Future Shop, which is located at
1180 - 33 Heritage Meadows Way SE, Calgary, starting with a ribbon cutting
ceremony with Alderman Ric McIver the morning of Friday September 30th.
The Deerfoot Meadows Future Shop store will provide visitors with 30,000
square feet of the latest technology in a comfortable, interactive
environment. The new Future Shop store will offer an exceptional range of the
latest digital products including a wide selection of brand-named televisions,
computers, audio, entertainment software and hardware plus appliances - all
backed by a low price guarantee. The Deerfoot Meadows store will also offer
many additional features and services including car audio install bays, DVD
preview stations, music listening stations, in-store computer technicians and
exciting home theatre and digital audio displays.

The weekend long celebrations will kick-off on Friday September 30th with
a ribbon cutting ceremony outside the store starting at 7:30 am. A
representative from the local Boys and Girls Club will be present to accept a
donation from the Deerfoot Meadows Future Shop store as part of the company's
Future Grants program. Also present for the ceremony will be a local Future
Leaders - Scholarships for Today's Youth, recipient.

DETAILS OF THE WEEKEND LONG CELEBRATIONS

Future Grants Presentation to the local Boys and Girls Club
As part of the grand opening, the new Deerfoot Meadows store will be
celebrating Future Shop's continued partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs of
Canada with a cheque presentation ceremony on the Friday morning of the grand
opening weekend, before the store opens its doors. Future Shop will present
the Boys and Girls Club of Calgary with a $1000 grant as part of the Company's
Future Grants program, which Future Shop launched last year. This program
provides an opportunity for clubs across the country to apply for a grant to
make improvements to their facility or help with local fundraising
initiatives.

Future Leaders - Scholarships for Today's Youth Presentation
Before store opening on Friday, Future Shop and Boys and Girls Clubs of
Canada are proud to present a local youth with a $3,000 post-secondary
scholarship. For the fifth consecutive year, Future Shop has offered 55 $3,000
post-secondary Future Shop "Future Leaders" scholarships to Boys and Girls
Club youth - bringing the number of youth to benefit from the scholarship
program to 275. This scholarship program recognizes Boys and Girls Club
members from across the country for their inspiring commitment to furthering
their education as well as the exceptional contributions they have made to
their communities.

Future Shop Gift Card Giveaway
Future Shop Gift Cards will be given away on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The first 200 people in line before the store opens will receive a $5, $25 or
$100 Future Shop Gift Card! Full details of the giveaway will be provided at
the store.
Deerfoot Meadows store hours for the weekend of September 30th to
October 2nd are:
- Friday 8:00am to 9:00pm
- Saturday 8:00am to 9:00pm
- Sunday 10:00am to 6:00pm

Playstation 2 Gaming Tournament
From 3:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday September 30th the Playstation
Interactive Gaming Truck will be at the Deerfoot Meadows Future Shop. Starting
at 4:30pm there will be a gaming tournament held where gamers can compete for
cool Playstation products. The Playstation Interactive Gaming Truck is a
massive, completely self contained game player's dream with Playstation 2 and
Playstation Portable interactive demos. This is your chance to play the latest
and greatest Playstation games.

FREE Wide Mouth Mason Performance and Autograph Signing - With Special
Appearance by Hedley
Wide Mouth Mason, the trio of musicians that hail from Saskatoon, SK,
will be giving a free performance, outside the Deerfoot Meadows store on
Saturday October 1st starting at 12:00pm. Their newest album, Shot Down
Satellites, which released on August 30, 2005, is the 9th for the band. Hedley
will be making a special appearance at 11:00am. Hedley is the Abbotsford,
B.C.'s up and coming band that is fronted by last year's Canadian Idol 2nd
runner up Jacob Hoggard, their album debuted 3rd on the Canadian Charts a few
weeks ago.

Calgary Flames Fan Giveaways
On Sunday, October 2nd, the first 200 people to walk through the doors of
the Deerfoot Meadows Future Shop wearing a Calgary Flames jersey will receive
a $10 Future Shop Gift Card. There will also be awesome hockey prizes,
including Calgary Flames hockey tickets, given out in the store every half
hour between 12:00pm and 4:00pm on Sunday.

Door Crasher Specials
In addition to the exciting events mentioned above, the Deerfoot Meadows
Future Shop will be celebrating its Grand Opening with Door Crasher Specials
