Future Shop caters to the cooking crowd

Yesterday, Future Shop, Canada's largest national retailer and e-tailer of consumer electronics, officially launched the Siemens line of appliances in all of their 116 store locations and online at The Siemens line is only available at Future Shop stores in Canada and was the focus of an exclusive launch event held at the Broadway, Vancouver store in BC with special guest Rob Feenie, Canada's own Iron Chef.
The event kicked off a weekend long celebration in Vancouver as the Broadway Future Shop store grand opens an additional 11,000 square feet of retail space.
"Broadway was the location of our first ever store in 1982, so it's a piece of our company's history," says Kevin Layden, President and COO. "This is the official launch for Siemens appliances in Canada and since they will be available exclusively in Future Shop stores, it made sense to launch them in this store and employ the help of one of the country's most celebrated chefs."
To give the launch a little class, the owner and executive chef of both Lumiere and Feenie's in Vancouver, Rob Feenie, was on hand to demonstrate the Siemens gas range. As the first Canadian chef to win the prestigious Iron Chef America competition, he knows a few things about food and his Alsatian Tarte outshone even the stainless steel.
The addition of the brand to the Future Shop line-up was strategic, as the company strives to increase market share in the category. Siemens was a natural fit for Future Shop, appealing to consumers who are looking for superior products infused with style. Their stainless steel finish and cutting edge features make them a must-consider for anyone buying a new home or upgrading their current appliances.
