Electronics Industry Veteran Robert Richardson Named Chairman Of Zensys

Zensys, a provider of wireless networking technology for control and status reading applications, announced today that Robert Richardson, an electronics and technology industry veteran, has been named chairman of the company effective immediately. Richardson, formerly a semiconductor industry consultant as well as chairman, chief executive officer and president of Unitrode Corporation, which was later purchased by Texas Instruments, will provide strategic direction for Zensys as it solidifies its role as a leader in the home control market.

Prior to joining Unitrode, Richardson served in various high-level positions at Silicon Valley Group, Inc. including President Lithography Systems, President Track Systems Division, and Corporate Vice-President New Business Development and Marketing. Richardson has also held key roles at Plantronics, Inc., Motorola, Arthur D. Little, SRI International and Fairchild.

Mr. Richardson currently serves on the boards of a number of companies including; Genus, Inc. a manufacturer of critical deposition processing products for the global semiconductor and the data storage industry, Applied Signal Technologies, Inc. a supplier of signal processing systems and equipement to the I.S. Government, Xandex, Inc., a private company supplying the products to sort and test systems companies of the semiconductor industry, Lovoltech, Inc. a private company in the power management component business and Exsis, Inc. a private company supplying email protection and authentications products.
