EHX Spring 2005 Opening Keynote to Spotlight Industry Leaders

22 January 2005

Ten of the most influential leaders in the custom electronics industry will share a single stage during the Electronic House Expo (EHX) Spring 2005.The panelists are part of a keynote discussion, Learning from the Leaders: Top 10 Tell All, which kicks off EHX Thursday, February 24, at 8:30 a.m. at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

The "Top 10" were recognized in EH Publishing's CE Pro magazine last year for their leadership in the custom electronics industry over the past 10 years since EH Publishing was founded. Company co-founder and CE Pro editor-at-large Julie Jacobson calls the Top 10 "some of the most enduring influences in the custom installation industry. They have all made a sustained contribution to the industry over the past 10 years and, furthermore, they have been consistently successful in their endeavors."

The Leaders, listed below, represent various disciplines within the custom electronics business--manufacturers, installers and consultants focusing on everything from mass-market home automation to the most lavish home theaters on the planet.

The CE Pro Top 10 Leaders

Jeremy Burkhardt, President, SpeakerCraft
Tom Doherty, Principal, Doherty Design Group, LLC
George Feldstein, Founder & CEO, Crestron
Doug Fikse, Founder & President, On-Q Home
Jeff Hoover, Founder & President, Audio Advisors
Theo Kalomirakis, Founder, TK Theaters
Jay McLellan, Founder & President, HAI
Sam Runco, Founder & CEO, Runco International Inc.
Joel Silver, Founder & President, Imaging Science Foundation
Ivan Zuckerman, Founder & CEO, Niles Audio Corp.

Jacobson will moderate the panel, encouraging the Leaders to share horror stories, along with their triumphs. "They didn't get to be Leaders by succeeding in everything they tried," says Jacobson. "They took risks, failed a few times, and continue to thrive in their respective niches."

Plus, these veterans will predict the future of the industry, suggesting which technologies will prevail, which business models will succeed, what consumers will buy, and what paths their own companies will take in the coming years.

This is the only time these Leaders will appear on a single stage, and the only opportunity for dealers, manufacturers and other industry professionals to address them in a public forum. Prior to the session, attendees are invited to submit their questions for any or all of the panelists. "I'll select the most compelling and controversial questions," says Jacobson. "And, who knows, some of the more entertaining questions may slip through as well."

This is the only keynote presentation during EHX Spring 2005. "In the past, we've had several keynotes, but this one is so exciting we did not want to take anything away from it," says John Galante, vice president of Events and Education for EH Publishing, the producer of EHX.

The keynote address is included in all registration packages. Registration for EHX Spring 2005 is available at www.ehxweb.com. Early discount pricing will be in effect through January 28th.
