Eastern Research Addresses the Evolution of Mobile Radio Access Networks
Product Portfolio Strategy Supports End-to-End Mobile RAN Optimization15 February 2006
Moorestown, New Jersey, USA, February 13, 2006 -- Eastern Research Inc., a global provider of transport equipment for telecommunications access networks, today announced its continued progress toward solving the transport optimization challenges faced by mobile operators as they transition to 3G and beyond.
Eastern s commitments in this area are reflected in its expanding product portfolio for mobile operators, spanning a range of technologies from narrowband and wideband/broadband switching, to access gateways for cell site backhaul optimization, and next-gen SDH/SONET capabilities that simplify the convergence of circuit- and packet-based traffic in mobile networks.
The company s DNX-11/88 and DNX-1u products have become integral components of major mobile operators radio access network (RAN) and SS7 traffic optimization strategies. These platforms are joined by recent portfolio additions, including the BSG-1u base station access gateway and OX8000 multiservice cross-connect, that help operators solve RAN optimization, bandwidth grooming, circuit/packet transport convergence, and cell site telemetry issues. Additional solutions for mobile operators will be introduced later this year.
