DesignAdvance Announces CircuitSpace V1.5; Latest Circuitspace Release Boosts PCB Design Productivity Through Enhanced Auto-Clustering, Replication an29 March 2006
PCB Design Conference West --DesignAdvance™ Systems, Inc., a leading developer of innovative designautomation software for users of EDA and MCAD tools, announced today thelatest release of CircuitSpace, its award-winning user-assisted PCBcomponent placement software. CircuitSpace v1.5 furthers DesignAdvance's commitment to boosting theproductivity of PCB designers. This version expands on the tool'sestablished hierarchical approach to printed circuit board design throughenhanced auto-clustering and replication technologies. Additionally,CircuitSpace's ability to expedite the design process by expanding on itscapabilities in the areas of template libraries, automatic bypass capacitorassignments, double-sided board placement and intelligent channel and/orport duplication. "Since the initial release of CircuitSpace, DesignAdvance has been workinghard to overcome the long standing perception that automated componentplacement is difficult to use and unable to make a significant impact onthe PCB design process," said Randy Eager, DesignAdvance CEO. "We areseeing a real change in mind set once designers are exposed toCircuitSpace." Highlighted Links DesignAdvance "Having seen unsuccessful attempts, I was skeptical of any company claimingto have a product that automates component placement. My opinion on thesubject changed since I started using CircuitSpace," said Mark Dills, 20+year veteran of the PCB business and a Senior PCB Designer with SofTEQ."The auto-clustering and replication features alone can save hours, days, even weeks of time off of a design cycle." This latest release of CircuitSpace also adds features to address thechallenges associated with managing frequent board design modifications socommon in today's concurrent design processes. CircuitSpace v1.5 guides its users through the concurrent board design by: -- Automatically identifying changes to a board design as they arrive through successive netlist imports-- Producing addendum clusters for newly added parts-- Assessing the impact of design changes on component placement and reporting part loss or gain and part type changes-- Reporting on detailed changes from current board design, to quickly adapt to the new requirements and to facilitate feedback to the hardware engineer "The latest enhancements to CircuitSpace present our customers with asignificant upgrade to the current 'click-and-drag' component placementprocess," continued Eager. "We are especially pleased with the improvementsto the concurrent board design process, which underscores our goal todeliver a product that enhances the way engineers and designers work todayrather than forcing them to adopt a foreign process to get their jobsdone." Availability CircuitSpace v1.5 is currently in beta and is expected to be generallyavailable in Q2 of 2006. For pricing information please contactDesignAdvance sales at sales@designadvance.com.
