DataMax System Solutions Capitalizes on Huge Liquidation of Retail POS Equipment

DataMax Systems Solutions, a leader in the retail technology industry, recently won a bid to purchase the displaced Eckerd's Point-of-sale equipment from 1,260 stores. The equipment became available as a result of the Eckerd acquisition by CVS. CVS/pharmacy (NYSE: CVS) is the largest drug store chain in North American with more than 5,400 stores in 36 states.

DataMax received over 130 tractor-trailers of equipment in their technical facility located in Boca Raton, Florida. Among the equipment included in the purchase was IBM point-of-sale terminals, Symbol Technology scanners, Lexmark printers, and Verifone payment terminals.

“This purchase creates many opportunities for our customers to save a considerable about of money on their store system purchases over the next year,” said Elliott R. Wallace, President and CEO of DataMax Systems Solutions.

With solutions installed in over twenty-five thousand stores, DataMax maintains one of the largest installed bases in the country. “Our extensive customer base creates a huge demand for good refurbished equipment, so we are very aggressive in purchasing as much quality point-of-sale equipment as we can find,” said Wallace.

After delivery to DataMax's technical facility, all of the equipment wass disassembled down to the component level and thoroughly cleaned and painted.. Components have been reassembled, tested, and properly packed for shipment. Everything DataMax sells is guaranteed for manufacturer's maintenance, and extended warranties are available.
