DACOR Marks Its 40th Year in Appliance Industry

DACOR, a market leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of high-end kitchen appliances and accessories, launches a year-long celebration this month to mark its 40th year in the multi-billion dollar appliance industry. From ovens, ranges and cooktops to ventilation systems, outdoor grills and warming drawers, DACOR offers a complete line of products to help customers experience and enjoy life in the kitchen.

The year will be full of festivities to mark the occasion. "Celebrating 40 Years" will be a theme line across all DACOR advertising, promotion and public relations activity, as well as a focal point of DACOR's exhibition at the annual (KBIS) Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas in May 2005. A special commemorative calendar, "The Signature Recipe Series" has been produced, featuring special recipes to underscore DACOR's cooking heritage. Furthermore, as a symbol of the industry's evolution and DACOR's role as an innovator, DACOR will bring to market several new products this year, including a new Epicure wall oven line first previewed at KBIS in 2004. The new wall ovens offer up to 33 percent more useable cooking space, a larger observation window, improved cleanability, and a digitally driven "Discovery" controller, a new convenience-inspired feature pioneered at DACOR Headquarters that controls temperature and cooking settings more precisely and efficiently than ever before.

After three generations of Joseph family ownership, DACOR has come to be regarded as "The First Family of Appliances." Under the leadership of Mike Joseph, Chairman, President and CEO, DACOR has also become an industry pacesetter in product quality and innovation. In 2004, sons Mike and Tony, joined their late father as inductees into the National Kitchen and Bath Hall of Fame. Only 60 persons have ever been granted this distinction. In 2003, DACOR won the "Family Business of the Year Award" in the Large Company Category from the Los Angeles Business Journal.
