Cut The Cord With XEMICS’ “Environmentally Friendly” Bluetooth® ACLBlue™

XEMICS’ ACLBlue™ reference design combines a true 1.8V with ultra low current consumption guarantying the lowest power Bluetooth® solutions on the market. The XE1431 in association with the CX72303 Bluetooth radio enables a ''Flash'' based application to be built for under US$8 BOM cost in volume.

This complete Lead-Free Bluetooth Drop-in Module makes the development of an ultra low power Bluetooth data device very simple. The embedded Bluetooth controller in the XE1431 independently executes significant parts of the Bluetooth protocol stack and allows the development of application layer software without the need to validate the Bluetooth protocol stack integrity. Thanks to the high level of flexibility, the XE1431 is a perfect fit for any data application where continuous software updates, of the higher layers, are vital to keep up to date with the latest Bluetooth implementations on the market.

The small form factor reference design targeting the cable replacement market is based on XEMICS' XE1431 Bluetooth application MCU and the CX72303 radio. All hardware is embedded to provide a complete solution from antenna through the full Bluetooth stack, up to the application layer. The ACLBlue is designed for portable devices, and the power consumption at 3V is less than 15mA (slave) for a DM1 data link operating at 115kbit/s in continuous transmission.

The range can be up to 10 meters with a very low-cost strip antenna and the design comes as a small 28 x 16 mm PCB that fits into the smallest solutions. It has multi purpose I/Os for push-buttons, as well as LED indicators. The ACLBlue PCB is fully compliant with an “Environmentally Friendly” Lead-Free process.
