CRLO Displays Renamed Forth Dimension Displays13 February 2006
Forth Dimension Displays Limited™ have been introduced today as the new name and description of the former CRLO Displays Limited. Forth Dimension Displays can also be recognised by the abbreviated ForthDD™.
In announcing the change, CEO Dr. Leslie G. Polgar said, «Forth Dimension Displays more clearly identifies both our Scottish roots, on the Firth of Forth, and our focus on developing and bringing to large-scale commercialization the benefits of our one-chip, high-speed, high-resolution microdisplay technology.»
According to the company's COO, Greg Truman, «Forth DD microdisplays process images temporally — not by three separate RGB channels— but truly in the fourth dimension – Time. Forth DD provides all-digital, Time Domain Imaging (TDI™) on a single chip.»
The company has become the leading supplier of the most advanced microdisplays for high-end specialty applications: military training and simulation, medical imaging, printing and high-end immersive entertainment applications. It exports over 90% of its production from its Dalgety Bay, Scotland facility to customers in North and South America, Asia, Africa and continental Europe.
The company is expanding into larger commercial and consumer markets, having developed its unique single chip solutions for large screen Rear Projection HDTVs.
