31 May 2006

Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (Brocade(R)) (Nasdaq: BRCD) today announced that selected Brocade-branded Storage Area Network (SAN) connectivity products are now available to solution providers and customers through the EMC Select Program, which provides convenient access to products from industry-leading vendors that are qualified for use in EMC-based solutions. This expansion of the ongoing Brocade and EMC relationship creates a new option for customers to purchase the industry's most widely adopted family of 4 Gbit/sec SAN switches and new, easy-to-order SAN connectivity bundles designed for departmental and SMB applications.

"Through the EMC Select program, customers have simple and efficient access to third-party products required to deploy an end-to-end information lifecycle management solution," said Marty Lans, Senior Director of Storage Network Marketing, EMC Corporation. "IT professionals understand the value of acquiring complete EMC-qualified solutions from a single source to help ease implementation of their information infrastructure. Brocade's expansion into the EMC Select Program will benefit customers planning to deploy the most prevalent storage networking technologies as part of an end-to-end information infrastructure."

The SilkWorm 207E and 205E switches are available individually or in single-SKU bundles that include the Emulex LightPulse family of Host Bus Adapters (HBAs). Featuring industry-leading 4 Gbit/sec Fibre Channel performance and innovative ease-of-use features, the SilkWorm 207E is designed to reduce complexity and lower operating costs for first-time SAN users deploying the latest in SAN technology.

"We are pleased to partner with Brocade to bring a complete 4 Gbit/sec SAN solution available today to EMC customers," said Mike Smith, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Marketing, Emulex Corp. "The SAN starter bundle is available now as a single model number, which streamlines the process for providing complete solutions based on EMC storage products.
