Branford Group to Conduct PCB Equipment Auction for Prestwick Circuits Ltd, a Division of TT Electronics

As part of a plant consolidation, the printed circuit board manufacturing equipment of TT electronics' Scotland, UK-based Prestwick Circuits division will be sold at public auction.

"This sale provides an excellent opportunity for plant managers worldwide to plan ahead and source brand name equipment," said Scott Lonkart, SVP of Operations at The Branford Group. "The complete closure of this 150,000 square foot facility will feature some of the latest technology -- as recent as 2005 -- in circuit board manufacturing. Machinery manufacturers include Mania, Olec, Lauffer, Klingelnberg, and Excellon."

The Branford Group and Bache Trehearne will conduct the auction on February 15, 2006 from the plant location in Scotland. The sale will be broadcast live over the Internet, where buyers can view equipment on their computer and enter their bids using a telephone.

Despite significant financial investment, adopting best manufacturing practices, reductions in the cost base and improved operational efficiencies Prestwick Circuits Limited will cease manufacturing at the end of 2005 due to constant pressure from overseas suppliers with factories in low labor cost areas. The company will continue to offer product to its key customer base by sourcing quality assured printed circuit boards from its supply partners in Asia, and therefore plan to maintain a small support team based in Ayrshire, Scotland.
