Altium Designer Selected by Agilent-Qianfeng as Design System of Choice

7 September 2005

Altium Limited (ASX: ALU), a leading
developer of Windows-based electronics design software, today announced the
selection of Altium Designer as the electronics design system of choice by
Agilent Technologies' strategic new joint venture in China,
Agilent-Qianfeng Electronics Technologies. The cost effectiveness, short
learning curve, intuitive operation, and powerful, integrated feature set
were key factors in the selection of Altium Designer's Protel license as
the superior design system of choice for
Agilent-Quianfeng's Chengdu Research and Development (R&D) facility in
China's Sichuan Province.

"Our engineers voted for Protel from the beginning because it was able to
provide exactly what we needed," said Xiaofei Ma, General Manager of R&D at
Aglient-Qianfeng. "In conjunction with our engineering team, Altium's China
team worked closely with us to determine and meet our scheduling, training
and support requirements for a smooth adoption of Altium Designer's Protel
license. We are excited about the implications of a solid partnership for
the future."

"Our advanced products, strong knowledge of the local electronics industry
and dedication to customer relationships supported by our Global Customer
Care Division, allows us to form very productive partnerships with
electronics companies in China," says Edward Qu, General Manager of
Altium's Shanghai Representative Office. "This is a time of very high
growth in the region's electronics industry, and Altium is well placed to
support the advanced electronic product design needs of facilities like the
Agilent-Qianfeng R&D labs."

Agilent-Qianfeng considered a range of software solutions for their design
and board-level development needs, but based on Altium Designer's short
learning curve, intuitive operation, high level of integration, powerful
features and cost effectivenes they selected the Altium Designer Protel
licensing option as the superior design system for their R&D lab
engineering staff. For the lab engineers, Altium Designer's Protel License
was the PCB design system of choice amongst the offerings from all other
vendors.
